Mrs. Sara Markham

Hi Everyone!

My name is Sara Markham. I am originally from Medford, my maiden name is Sara Elzen. I attended Minnesota State University Moorhead where I received a degree in Elementary Education and a Special Education Certificate.  I recently graduated from St. Mary's University with my Masters in Curriculum Instruction in December 2019, so I feel I am ready to jump into any area of teaching.  I taught 3rd grade for a little while in Medford, then switched to first grade for 4 years. I will continue into my third year of teaching 2nd grade.  Bouncing around in different grade levels keeps my lessons fresh and exciting, plus I have developed a deeper understanding of child development within the education system. I am so excited to be working with these fabulous second graders this year. We will become the "BLOCK PARTY" a group that will STICK TOGETHER and KEEP BUILDING no matter what this year throws at us!

My husband, Kelly, and I live in Medford.  We have 2 children and one on the way.  Bennett is our busy body that keeps us entertained.  We are pretty exciting because he is starting Kindergarten this year.  Our 2nd son is Hudson.  He is trying to keep up with his big brother and is the happiest little guy!  Our newest bundle will be joining our family in October.  I am sure you will see us out and about in town throughout the year. We added a pup into our family, Quinn is a white lab and the biggest lover! He likes to eat or roll on anything he can find.  Call me a crazy lady, but I love our 6 chickens and cat on our funny farm! Freddy Kitty is as easy-going as an outdoor cat can be.   Chasing chickens is now a daily occurrence at our house.  Luckily, it gave us some physical activity during the stay-at-home orders. When I am not in school I love to read, scrapbook, go to the cabin, garden, and spend time with family and friends.
