Our school has recently updated the AR program to a web based one called "Renaissance Place."  This new version has access to over 118,000 quizzes and a feature called Home Connect.  Parents can receive quiz results through email and find books that have an AR quiz with AR BookFinder.  Student login information is required.

What is the Accelerated Reading (AR) Program?
Accelerated Reader (AR) is a computer program that helps teachers manage and monitor students’ reading practice. A student picks a book at his/her own level and reads it at his/her own pace. When finished, the student takes a short quiz on the computer. (Passing the quiz is an indication that the student understood what he/she has read.) AR gives both student and teacher feedback based on the quiz results that the teacher uses to help the student set goals and direct ongoing reading practice. Students using AR choose their own books to read, rather than having one assigned to them. This makes reading a much more enjoyable experience.
