All assessments help districts to measure student achievement and progress. ACCESS testing is to annually assess English Language proficiency of all English learners. The MCA tests measure achievement on the Minnesota Academic Standards and measure academic progress over time. Most students will take the MCA, but students who receive special education services may take an alternate assessment instead. The College Entrance Exams are the ACT and/or SAT. These tests provide Minnesota graduates information related to career and college readiness. As partners in education, parents and guardians will receive the results in the fall following the spring test administration. For more detailed information on these tests, please visit the State of Minnesota Education website: www.education.state.mn.us Once on the website, click on "Students and Families" and then go to "Statewide Testing". There is a lot of information available to further explain these tests. |
